A spring-like pattern pushing into North Texas means there is a threat for severe thunderstorms across the Metroplex today.

A line of storms is expected to develop around midday in DFW with the potential for hail and damaging winds.

The line will march east during the afternoon.  After it passes, the wind will be very strong.  A Wind Advisory and a Red Flag Warning are in effect west of Fort Worth this afternoon.

Wildfires will easily burn out of control with the strong winds this afternoon and evening.

TODAY:    Mostly cloudy, warm and windy, with a 70 percent chance for brief  thunderstorms around mid-day.  Some could be strong to severe with strong wind gusts and hail.  Clearing skies, very windy and warm during the afternoon.  High: 77.  Wind: SW-W 15-30 mph.

TONIGHT:  Windy and turning colder by morning.  Low: 42.  Wind: W 15-30 mph. 

WEDNESDAY:  Sunny and much cooler.  Low: 42.  High: 56.  Wind: NW 10-20 mph.

THURSDAY:  Chilly during the morning, but sunny and mild by afternoon.  Low: 34.  High: 63.  Wind:  SW 10-20 mph.

FRIDAY:  Mostly sunny and mild.  Low 38.  High 66.  Wind:  S 5-10 mph.

SATURDAY:   Partly cloudy and mild.  Low: 44.  High: 64.  Wind: NE 5-10 mph. 

SUNDAY:  Partly cloudy and a little warmer.  Low: 41.  High: 70.  Wind: S 5-10 mph.

MONDAY:  Mostly sunny and warmer.  20 percent chance of rain.  Low: 47.  High: 68.  Wind: S 10-15 mph.
